Role Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated Family Law Legal Practitioner with a strong interest in social justice to join our Cairns Office team. As one of Queensland's largest legal practices, we offer a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
About You:You must be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland or hold (or be eligible for immediate acquisition of) a current Practising Certificate and be admitted as a Legal Practitioner or Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the Australian High Court. You should demonstrate a high level of professional service and capacity across a wide range of Family Law, Domestic Violence, and Child Protection advocacy.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of two years of full-time experience in Family Law, Domestic Violence, and Child Protection advocacy
- Resilience in handling complex cases, including Domestic Violence and Child Protection work
- The ability to develop culturally competent service skills
In this role, you will engage directly with clients daily, honing your advocacy skills within a busy team. You will have the autonomy to manage your own workflows without the pressure of billable hours, allowing for a healthy work-life balance.

For experienced Legal Practitioners, there is an opportunity for specialisation as an Independent Children?s Lawyer and Separate Representative, with support for attending required events and ongoing practice.
