About the role We are seeking a Scientific Officer who is highly motivated to join a passionate, vibrant, and engaged team.
The responsibilities include: Preparation, analysis, and testing of specimens and/or assays Performing designated testing procedures as outlined in methods and procedures, ensuring adherence to NPAAC/NATA ISO15189 requirements Assisting with stock control, compliance, and maintaining records of results in line with protocols Maintaining and operating all equipment according to protocols Maintaining current scientific knowledge Participating in routine and audit-related Quality Assurance activities Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding test results or referrals as necessary Ensuring compliance with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures, and Quality Assurance Processes About you To be considered, you should meet the following essential requirements: Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science), or equivalent AIMS accreditation Full working rights in Australia Demonstrated experience, knowledge, skills within the discipline High attention to detail and commitment to safety, quality, and accountability Strong communication and organizational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team and contribute to team performance Knowledge of quality assurance systems, scientific instrumentation, and equipment Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety processes and procedures Benefits and Wellbeing Working with Healius provides access to benefits including: Benefits platform: Savings on everyday expenses with 500+ Australian brands Fitness Passport: Access to fitness centres and pools across Australia at a subsidized rate Health insurance discounts, banking benefits, and salary packaging options Career development: Online courses and learning paths via our e-learning platform Health and well-being support: Employee Assistance Program for employees and their families Our commitment to diversity and inclusion Laverty Pathology is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
