This is a Permanent Full-time role based in Sydney.  Ready for Your Next Big Story? Are you a seasoned journalist with a nose for breaking news and a passion for telling stories that matter? 10 News is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced News Reporter to join our Sydney newsroom.

This isn't just another reporting role.

It's a chance to be at the forefront of a news brand, across a powerful multi-platform network.

As part of a dynamic, fast-moving team, you'll chase leads, uncover facts, and produce compelling, high-impact television news stories that shape the national conversation.

Reporting to the Executive Producer, you'll have the freedom to work independently and the support of a collaborative newsroom culture that values bold ideas, journalistic integrity, and creativity.

Functions will include:     Pitch, research, and produce original, high-quality news stories for broadcast.

Work under tight deadlines to deliver clear, accurate, and engaging TV news content.

Report live with confidence on breaking news events.

Take the lead on complex news stories, from concept to broadcast, with minimal supervision.

Proactively source and line up stories, ensuring comprehensive and dynamic coverage.

Cover other newsroom roles as required.

What are we looking for in a Reporter? What's important?      Strong news judgment and a deep understanding of the TV news landscape.

Exceptional communication skills—both on-air and behind the scenes.

Highly motivated to cultivate contacts, you're not afraid to pick up the phone.

Ability to work under pressure and make quick, accurate editorial decisions.

Proven track record in television news reporting.

In-depth knowledge of local, national, and international current affairs.

Proficiency in non-linear editing systems, with experience in TV news production.

Flexibility to work across different shifts, including weekends, to meet newsroom demands.

Strong grasp of media law and its application in news reporting.
