Senior Project Engineer

Location: Perth CBDThe company: Tier 1 EPCMThe project: Major iron ore projectIndicative assignment length: Initial 12months casual contractThe role Based in our client's Perth office, you will be a key member of a capital iron ore project for major mining owner/operator.Your role will involve a strong focus on tunnelling, bulk earthworks, concrete, grade separations and railway interface work, client service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate with personnel from other disciplines.What you'll be doing Lead the successful delivery of installation work packages across bulk earthworks, concrete structures, and grade separations.
Track project progress and performance against established plans, proactively addressing issues to minimise risk and avoid delays.
Manage cost performance and contractor claims while developing and implementing project controls, technical specifications, schedules, and cost estimates.
Ensure all work aligns with defined scope, quality standards, and operational requirements.
Secure necessary approvals for key project documentation, including calculations, specifications, and scope variations.
Oversee site activities to ensure adherence to quality, budget, and schedule constraints.
Prepare and maintain accurate project schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
Continuously monitor project risks and lead the implementation of effective mitigation strategies.

What you'll need to succeed Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field) Minimum of 10+ years of professional experience in project engineering, with a proven track record in the industry Proven experience in the mining sector, with a solid background in tunnelling , bulk earthworks , concrete works , grade separations , and railway interface projects.
Extensive expertise in developing and implementing project schedules, cost estimates, coordination activities, and managing contractor claims.
Demonstrated project management capabilities, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time, within budget, and in line with client expectations.
Comfortable with frequent site travels .
