Volunteer Driver Mentor, Braking The Cycle

Braking the Cycle is a learner mentor driving program that aims to provide young people with increased employment opportunities, community connection and road safety education.
We support learner drivers without access to a supervisor or registered vehicle to complete their logbook hours.
Our Mentors are critical to the success of the program and act as positive adult role models as well as driving supervisors.We ask for all Driver mentors to hold an Open Driver's Licence for 12 months, have a good traffic history and have or be able to apply for a Blue Card.Training on the role will be provided.
We also supply the vehicle and insurance for conducting driving sessions.
Responsibilities Support a disadvantaged young person in achieving their 100 logbook hours.Act as a positive adult role model and driving supervisor.Ensure compliance with traffic regulations and safety standards.Attend training sessions provided by QPCYWA.
Suitable for Centrelink Volunteers, Skilled Volunteers Commitment Regular - more than 6 months Training Training on the role will be provided.
Time required 2 hours a week, flexible around your schedule.
