The PS Murray Princess is a stunning vessel accommodating up to 120 guests. Our cruises attract visitors from Australia and worldwide.

About the role

The Head Chef is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the galley, food services and supervision of galley staff.

Roster: 14.5 days on, 13.5 days off

The Head Chef prepares, cooks and serves meals for passengers and crew, managing food preparation, dish washing and cleaning of crew areas.

The position involves:

  • Breakfast shifts and working to schedules
  • Managing your galley team
  • Food ordering, menu planning and stock control
  • Maintenance of galley equipment and utensils

The Head Chef will provide direction for costing food, initiating new business potential and driving measurable profit.

We seek a bright, energetic individual with strong work ethic and enthusiastic attitude to join our crew.

You will need:

  • Certificate Qualification and Experience in cooking
  • To ensure exceptional food experiences for our guests
  • Strong leadership skills and people management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven reporting and accountability skills
  • Organisation and planning
  • Interpersonal and relationship building
  • Attention to detail in preparation & food presentation

Key requirements complemented by experience in:

  • Food provision and preparation services
  • Excellence in customer service
  • Fast-paced team working
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • Minimum of 3 year hotel or restaurant experience in a similar role
  • Trade Qualification
