Discover it for yourself: The RoleAs our first Senior Product Designer dedicated to the Ad Nav platform, you will lead the end-to-end design of a unified user experience across our software suite.
From developer tools to configuration UIs to analytics dashboards, you'll play a key role in shaping how our users interact with Ad Nav systems across industries such as defence, autonomy, maritime, and energy.
Working alongside product, engineering, and customer teams, you'll bring clarity to complex workflows and help deliver a consistent, intuitive experience across the entire product family.
This is a foundational role, ideal for a designer who wants to take ownership of a new UX system from the ground up and grow a small but impactful design function around them.
What You'll DoLead the design vision for the Ad Nav user experience across all software touchpoints (SDKs, configuration tools, analytics interfaces, and dashboards).
Work closely with product managers, engineers, and customers to understand technical requirements and user needs, and translate them into clear interaction models and intuitive designs.
Define and maintain a design system that promotes consistency, scalability, and cross-platform alignment.
Build prototypes to test and validate design decisions early and often with real users.
Partner with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation of designs and provide ongoing design support throughout the development lifecycle.
Drive cross-functional UX discovery workshops, mapping user journeys, personas, and workflows for different customer segments.
Contribute to roadmap planning by identifying UX gaps, usability opportunities, and product cohesion challenges.
Take a leading role in hiring and mentoring future designers as the team grows.
QualificationsDegree in interaction design, HCI, UX, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
Advanced proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar Ability to create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and detailed visual specs Strong UX research practices and familiarity with usability testing Solid understanding of responsive design and front-end development constraints Clear communicator with the ability to explain design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders 5+ years of experience designing user interfaces for technical or enterprise-grade software Proven experience designing for tools, platforms, or complex B2 B applications Experience in industries such as automotive, aerospace, defence, or industrial software is a strong plus Previous involvement in building or contributing to a design system Experience mentoring or leading other designers is desirable Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Design, Art/Creative, and Information Technology Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Advanced Navigation by 2x Get notified about new Senior Product Designer jobs in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia .
