It is essential that you have a strong understanding of fuel handling systems, relevant Australian and Defence Standards/requirements and sound project management principles to ensure technical excellence, compliance and delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Your responsibilities will include – Lead engineering teams across mechanical, process, piping and electrical, instrumentation and civil/structural disciplines throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development through detailed design, procurement, construction support and commissioning Apply in-depth technical knowledge of fuel storage, transfer and distribution systems, including pipelines, tanks, pumping systems, metering and safety systems Oversee the development of engineering deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, specifications and reports Ensure compliance with Australian and Defence standards and client requirements Provide mentorship to junior engineers and foster a collaborative and high performing team Support project management with planning, budgeting and risk mitigation Liaise with Defence clients, regulatory bodies and subcontractors Implement and ensure sound quality assurance procedures and standards Identify opportunities for continuous improvements in engineering processes, tools and methodologies Required Skills and Experience Demonstrate evidence of solid consultancy experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process or related engineering discipline Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is highly desirable Experienced in project engineering, ideally in the fuels or oil and gas sector Experience with Defence projects or standards is a strong advantage Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams Strong technical, communication and stakeholder engagement skills Experience with relevant engineering software and tools Eligibility for an Australia Defence Security Clearance (need to be Australian Citizen) About Ventia Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
