If you want to play a key role in the delivery of the next State election and make a positive contribution to democracy, then consider applying for this exciting roleECSA receives and manages a range of complaints in the lead up to and during election events, including complaints regarding electoral advertising and compliance with publication and display requirements under Part 13 of the Electoral Act 1985.
The Senior Complaints Officer will handle complex complaints in accordance with established complaints framework, policies and protocols.
The role will also manage a caseload of escalated or sensitive complaints, provide guidance to other complaints officers and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the complaints handling function.
Reporting to the Senior Project Officer, key responsibilities include : Efficient and comprehensive day-to-day management of complex, sensitive or high-risk complaints.
Assessing, processing, investigating and advising on complaints finalisation (including responses to electoral complaints, ministerial enquiries and Parliamentary questions) in accordance with the Electoral Act 1985 , the Local Government (Elections) Act 1999 and other relevant legislation.
Ensuring all complaints and correspondence are accurately recorded, and approved policies and procedures are adopted for triage, resolution and escalation.
Referring matters for legal advice where necessary, and recommending appropriate action for referral, enforcement or prosecution.
Developing strategies for the continuous monitoring, evaluation and improvement of complaints management processes and make recommendations to facilitate informed decision making.
Highly developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, in particular the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and influence others in a diplomatic and professional manner are essential to this role.
Special Conditions This role is offered temporary term basis up to February 2027.
In order not to compromise the strict neutrality of the Commission, no person who is active in political affairs or intends to carry on this activity may be an employee.
Employment is dependent upon a criminal history check that the Commission finds satisfactory.
Extensive out of normal working hours duty may be required during the period of an election.
Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
Remuneration ASO5 – $85,790 to $95,413 per annum Applicants are requested to refer to the Job Application Guidelines before submitting their application.
