Carine Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly focused and enthusiastic Head of Learning Area - Arts to lead their Arts Department.
The department encompasses performing Arts (Music, Dance, and Drama) and Visual Arts.
In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the Arts Head of Learning Area (HOLA) provides educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and creating a positive school culture.

The Role The Art Department encompasses performing Arts (Music, Dance, and Drama) and Visual Arts.
In collaboration with the Principal and members of the administrative team, the HOLA provides educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and creating a positive school culture.
Some of your key responsibilities may include the following:
Leadership: Provide an active leadership role in the ongoing development and implementation of a positive and caring learning environment across the school.
Student Well-Being: Promote the self-esteem of students and nurture their social and emotional well-being, facilitating problem-solving mechanisms involving student welfare.
Exemplary Practice: Model exemplary High Impact Teaching Strategies (HITS) to staff and students.
Performance Development: Undertake performance development of staff in the Arts learning area.
Resource Management: Consult on the selection of resources, manage the relevant budgets, and contribute to the ongoing management and review of the school's accountability processes.
Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, local artists, and community organisations to enhance the Arts program.
The desired applicant will ideally encourage parents and the community engagement by showcasing the Art Department productions.
In addition, as HOLA you would Oversee the promotion and delivery of general, ATAR and certificate courses in the Arts.
