About the role :
Reporting to the Head of Unit and Clinical Director, this role involves providing high-standard clinical services to Mental Health Service Division patients, offering clinical leadership and contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
The Consultant Psychiatrist will also be involved in teaching medical students and trainees, and where appropriate, Nursing and Allied Health staff.
Duties include:

Providing high-quality clinical service and leadership,
Supervising Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee Medical Officers, and Medical Students,
Participating in an after-hours on-call service as per a roster agreed with the Department Director,
Providing supervision to registrars, resident medical officers, and interns.

About you :

Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent, with appropriate Specialist Qualifications registered with the Medical Board of Australia (Psychiatry); or other qualifications as per the SA Medical Officers Award,
Proven high standard of clinical practice in Psychiatry,
Professional integrity, leadership, and motivational skills,
Experience supervising and teaching medical staff at undergraduate and postgraduate levels,
Experience relevant to emergency medicine.
