The Role The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, highly proficient school leader adept at engaging staff, parents, and students, whilst supporting the school's priorities.
The Head of Department – Mathematics will lead and support staff to plan, deliver, monitor, assess and evaluate differentiated teaching and learning programs to ensure a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
The successful applicant will ideally possess experience in supporting and building the capacity of their staff through coaching and mentoring processes.
They will display high level skills and knowledge of curriculum and understand how successful coaching and opportunity for professional learning supports the success of whole school operations.
The successful applicant will have outstanding communication and organisational skills, resilience, and proven ability to lead staff to effectively implement the Western Australian curriculum, guiding teachers and students to achieve excellence in well-established ATAR and General Courses.
As the Head of Mathematics, you will lead the department to further develop and embed high standards of teaching and learning.
Your knowledge of the Department's Quality Teaching Strategy will help you to focus on developing and implementing effective numeracy intervention programs.
Your ability to upskill staff in the delivery of these interventions will showcase your strong understanding of how to mentor and support teachers to develop effective classroom practice.
Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to integrate numeracy skills across the curriculum, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and interventions, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year.
Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
Eligibility To work with us, you must: Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Hold registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia.
Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
Consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
