About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for the full design, testing, and commissioning of various projects, including Switchyards, Renewable Projects, Power Factor Correction, Transportable Substations, and Underground Mining Equipment.

What we're looking for
As an Electrical Engineer at Ampcontrol, your daily responsibilities will include managing the design of key projects and products.
Your main tasks will involve:
Initiating ideas for innovation in new and existing product designs
Undertaking and assisting with conceptual and preliminary design of products
Contributing technical ideas to develop engineering proposals and solutions for business opportunities
Monitoring relevant standards and updating our product range accordingly
Collaborating with on-site application developers to improve workflow management, test documentation, and quality policies
Your willingness to engage hands-on in a service and project environment will be complemented by:
Certificate, Degree, or Diploma in Electrical Engineering
Strong experience in electrical switchgear design and overhaul, with knowledge of relevant standards
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency with CAD tools and Microsoft Office
Formal project management qualifications (advantageous)
Knowledge in protection system design
Experience with PLC and SCADA systems
Experience commissioning HV and LV electrical power and control systems
