About the opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced and collaborative Senior Property Underwriter to join Miramar Underwriting Agency, part of the Steadfast Group.
This product specialist role supports a dedicated team of SME and specialist underwriters, providing technical leadership and underwriting services to our broker network.
You'll play a key role in managing complex risks, mentoring underwriters, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our underwriting processes.

Key Responsibilities: Partner with underwriters, product managers, and insurer partners to drive portfolio performance.
Manage complex property risks and support day-to-day underwriting referrals.
Develop and maintain strong broker relationships and a pipeline of new business.
Contribute to process improvements and underwriting governance in collaboration with Product Managers.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to underwriting colleagues.
Conduct underwriting audits and support the implementation of competency frameworks.
Promote effective communication and alignment across the team and broader business.
Skills and Qualifications: Extensive experience in property underwriting within an insurance company.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Strategic thinker with analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
Proven ability to mentor and train underwriters, including onboarding experienced hires.
Relevant tertiary qualifications that support the role's responsibilities.
