Rapidly growing food manufacturer requires a Senior Project Engineer to lead the setup of a new facility in Sydney's West.
Experience in factory layout, equipment sourcing, and setup is required.
This role suits an intelligent project lead with experience in greenfield/brownfield site setup within food, pharmaceutical, or beverage manufacturing sectors.
The Business The company has reached capacity at its current facilities and has identified a new site to transfer its production.
It manufactures over 300 SKUs to HACCP and SQF standards, supplying both QSR and retail customers.
The Role We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Engineer to oversee the design, planning, and execution of a new food manufacturing facility in Sydney's West.
Responsibilities include managing all project phases—from concept development and facility layout to equipment sourcing, installation, and commissioning—ensuring timely, budget-compliant, and food safety-standard compliant delivery.
The successful candidate will: Project Leadership & Management: Lead end-to-end design and setup, define scope, timelines, budgets, and resource needs, monitor milestones, and manage risks.
Facility & Process Design: Develop layouts, flow diagrams, and configurations optimized for efficiency, safety, and scalability; specify and select equipment meeting standards.
Installation & Commissioning: Oversee site prep, utility hookups, installation, lead FAT and SAT, and coordinate startup activities.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management: Serve as the technical contact, manage RFPs, vendor selection, negotiations, and procurement.
Continuous Improvement & Sustainability: Incorporate sustainability and waste reduction practices into the facility.
About You You are a highly intelligent and creative Project Engineer/Manager with experience in food, beverage, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
You can commit to an initial 12-month project and have managed site startups, including designing layouts, sourcing equipment, and installation.
This is a critical role impacting the company's growth plans.
Offer The client offers a salary up to circa $200,000 plus superannuation, commensurate with experience.
