We offer support to individuals experiencing psychiatric crises who present to the RMH Emergency Department (ED).
Our team is committed to delivering compassionate and effective care, ensuring that individuals receive the support and treatment they need.Benefits of working at RMH:Salary packaging options, earn up to $12,000 tax free earnings5 weeks annual leave plus monthly ADO's for full time employeesDiscounted gyms and health centre access with Fitness PassportFantastic learning and development opportunitiesAbout the role:Integral Role: The team plays a pivotal role within the ED, serving as a crucial interface between community mental health services, the Post Discharge Mental Health Support program, Consultation Liaison Psychiatry and inpatient servicesComprehensive Care: EMH clinicians contribute to the assessment, management, treatment, and discharge planning of consumers in crisis and with potential mental health disordersDynamic Environment: Operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the team works closely with Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD), Social Work (SW) and care coordination servicesAutonomous Support: EMH clinicians have the capacity to work independently but with accessible escalation where required, supporting individuals in mental health crisis and involving family and carers in treatment outcomes whenever possibleSkill Development: The role provides opportunities to develop and excel in clinical assessment, targeted brief interventions, risk assessment, crisis management, and communication skillsCollaborative Consultation: EMH clinicians consult with ED staff while identifying and assessing individuals with possible mental illness, ensuring a collaborative approach to careDisciplinary Contribution: You'll have the opportunity to contribute your discipline-specific expertise to a supportive multidisciplinary team, enhancing the overall quality of care providedAbout you:Formal QualificationsThis is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Clinical Psychologists (must hold relevant degree, registration and/or membership as per attached Position Description)EssentialDemonstrate a strong understanding of mental illness and the assessment of disorders including relevant legislation pertinent to the roleDemonstrate effective communication skillsAbility to work on a rotating roster including weekend and night shiftsTo view the full Position Description, please click here.Please note, recruitment is ongoing, with interviews commencing as soon as suitable applications are received.
