Legal Counsel

Perseus Mining Limited is seeking a proactive and commercially minded Legal Counsel to support our Legal Team in Perth, WA.
As Legal Counsel in this newly created role, you will work closely with the Senior Legal Counsel, General Counsel and Company Secretary to provide legal support across the business.
This varied role offers exposure to both day-to-day legal operations and strategic projects, with responsibilities including: Providing legal advice to Perseus Mining Limited and its group companies Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating procurement and other commercial contracts Supporting contract management, including disputes and resolution processes Conducting due diligence for M&A transactions Developing and implementing legal policies and procedures, including training delivery Contributing to company secretarial duties Reviewing and updating internal policies to align with legal and business requirements Supporting compliance with employment, safety, environmental, and community policies About You We're looking for a collaborative and commercially astute legal professional who is confident managing a diverse workload and working across multiple jurisdictions.
To succeed in this role our ideal candidate will have: A tertiary qualification in Law A current WA practicing certificate (or eligibility to obtain) 1-3 years' post-admission experience Background in corporate and commercial law, ideally from a top-tier firm and/or in-house within the resources sector Strong knowledge of contract, corporate, and commercial law Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with a culturally diverse stakeholder base High attention to detail and sound analytical skills Well-developed time management and organisational skills, with flexibility when required Willingness to travel to Africa as required Highly Desirable Proficiency in French (spoken and written) Familiarity with civil law systems Previous experience in Africa Where you'll be working This position is based in Perseus's Subiaco office, with a corporate team of roughly 60 employees and growing.
You'll join a small corporate team, allowing for close interactions across all departments and levels of the business.
