Head of Learning Product Design & Development The Organisation: The Australian Property Institute (API) is Australia's leading and contemporary membership organisation, representing the interests of property professionals who undertake property, plant and machinery valuations, property analysis, investment advisory, fund and asset management, property and facility management, property law, research, and academia.
With close to 8,000 Members, a staff of approx 40, and revenue in excess of $10 million, the API provides leadership, education, professional development, recognised accreditation, resources, advocacy and other services to the industry body they represent.
They set and maintain the highest standards of professional practice, education, ethics, and professional conduct for Members, and as a result, raise the bar for the entire profession.
Focused on expanding the organisation's education and qualification services, as well as providing futuristic change and strategic advice to the industry, the API is now seeking a visionary and strategic Head of Learning & Design to lead the development of quality products across the Certified Professional Development (CPA) and accreditation programs.
The Role: As Head of Learning and Design , you will lead the development and implementation of innovative learning products across our property product portfolio.
This senior position will drive educational initiatives and employee capability development, whilst ensuring academic compliance and accreditation standards, aligned with our business objectives and industry best practices.
You will be responsible for: Ensure the core product range meets quality benchmarks and market needs Oversee development of bespoke programs that drive innovation in SME and corporate segments Expand the product portfolio to align with our Capability Framework Address product execution for high-potential segments in adjacent property sectors and complementary industries.
Key Responsibilities: Design and oversee the implementation of comprehensive learning programs for property professionals.
Lead the development of blended learning solutions incorporating face-to-face, digital, and experiential learning methodologies.
Partner with senior stakeholders to identify skill gaps and create targeted development programs that address current and future business needs.
Build and maintain relationships with external and internal stakeholders including Board, Committees, Universities, and education providers Drive the adoption of new technologies and learning platforms to enhance training delivery and effectiveness.
Oversee the design and delivery of mandatory training programs specific to the property sector.
Identify growth opportunities and lead digital transformation initiatives in learning and development Drive operational excellence: Lead a team of two full-time learning specialists and instructional designers, and contractors as required, to create engaging content and learning experiences.
Ensure member compliance with CPD requirements and manage audit processes Coordinate development, delivery, and evaluation of CPD curriculum Manage accreditation and recognition of international programs, national CPD programs, and training modules Develop and manage the learning and development budget while measuring ROI on training initiatives.
Manage university accreditation and APREF program Develop robust assessment frameworks and learning effectiveness measures About You: To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Essential Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Learning and Development, Organisational Development, Education, or related field.
A successful track record in leading a learning and development team Demonstrated success in educational design and content delivery Strong process management and problem-solving abilities Strong track record in managing high-performing teams Strong understanding of adult learning principles and contemporary learning methodologies.
Track record of implementing successful learning strategies in complex organisations.
Experience with learning management systems and digital learning platforms.
Proven leadership capabilities and excellent stakeholder management skills.
Desired Skills and Attributes: An understanding of the Australian property market or similar heavily regulated industries would be advantageous, but not essential Experience with RTOs and professional membership bodies Strong commercial acumen and business partnership capabilities.
Proficiency with learning management systems and CRM systems Experience with agile design thinking frameworks, and UX/ UI design disciplines Excellent presentation and communication skills.
Innovation mindset with ability to drive continuous improvement.
Experience with change management initiatives.
