we're looking for a Building Surveyor to join our passionate
and professional team, to ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable
development across Cockburn's rapidly evolving landscape.
This position has become available following the
internal promotion of one of our team members—reflecting the
City's strong commitment to supporting staff growth and
helping individuals reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a Building Surveyor at the City of Cockburn, you'll
play a key role in ensuring the safety, compliance, and integrity
of the built environment within our community.
This role involves
assessing building applications, conducting site and compliance
inspections, and issuing statutory certifications in line with the
Building Act 2011, the Building Code of Australia, and
other relevant legislation.
About You
You'll bring:
Registration (or eligibility) with the WA Department of
Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety
Knowledge of the Building Act 2011, Building Code
of Australia, R-Codes, and relevant Australian Standards
Experience in statutory approvals, inspections, and
compliance
Strong communication and analytical skills
WA Driver's Licence and Construction White Card
(essential)
Local government experience and Level 1 or 2 registration
(highly regarded)

Salary: $93,945.24 - $118,583.27 per annum,
depending on skills and experience.
