We are now recruiting a Business Intelligence Analyst who will play a key role in supporting the City of Marion's vision to become a data led organisation – where decisions are driven by evidence, insights, and the smart use of information.
Reporting to the Business Intelligence Lead, this role will actively contribute to our Information Services Strategy which outlines a future-focused approach to technology and data that enhances community engagement, improves internal efficiency, and underpins the delivery of strategic priorities.
What You'll Do

Design and maintain dashboards that clearly reflect performance across services and products
Evaluate and validate data as it's collected, profiling for anomalies and gaps
Work closely with data owners to improve data quality, consistency, and usability
Develop methodologies for deeper analysis and improved insight
Communicate findings to support real-time, evidence-based decisions
Foster a culture of continuous improvement using data as a driver

What You'll Bring

Advanced SQL skills and strong experience with Power BI or similar tools (Tableau, etc.)
A knack for translating technical data into clear, actionable insights
Experience working with complex, incomplete, or messy data sets
A collaborative mindset — able to work with stakeholders from across the business
A degree in computer science, IT, maths, economics, or a related discipline
At least 3 years' experience in a data analysis or business intelligence role

Bonus points if you've worked with the Microsoft BI stack or used Python for analysis.
