The Opportunity Cleanaway is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Technical Officer to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for working at our Stawell landfill site at least three days per week, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

The other two days can be worked from home.

Key Responsibilities Analyse soil test results and prepare detailed reports to inform environmental management strategies.

Support the implementation and maintenance of environmental compliance programs, including record-keeping and reporting.

Provide technical assistance and support to the landfill management team on environmental matters.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of innovative environmental solutions.

Assist with the development of site master plans and contract management, and compilation and submission of tender documents Update and review site management plans Compile and review technical reports Where required, undertake environmental monitoring specific to the site, which may include leachate, groundwater, landfill gas, litter, and odour Regular interaction with regulators Attend community consultation meetings and assist with preparing community updates About You We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual, ideally with 1 – 2 years' experience in a similar role, who is passionate about environmental science and ready to learn and grow in a dynamic work environment.

The ideal candidate will have: A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.

Understanding of National and State guidance for environmental management of contaminated land and landfills Knowledge of soil sampling techniques and environmental monitoring tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise reports and liaise with several regulatory agencies.

A collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team.

A genuine passion for environmental sustainability and a desire to make a positive impact.
