About this role

We are currently accepting applications for a Social Worker (Grade 2) to join our Mental Wellbeing team on a fixed-term position until June 30, 2026.

Role Statement

This position is for an experienced social worker with a focus on providing services to community clients and may include some work with residential aged care residents and hospital in-patients, collectively known as consumers.

The primary function of this position is to provide generalist social work support using focused mental health interventions for individuals or within groups. The role is to assist and support consumers, their families and support networks in response to physical, emotional and social factors that negatively impact on the consumer's health and wellbeing.

The social work role also has a primary and secondary prevention component focused on averting the onset of poor mental and physical health and early intervention by addressing social and environmental determinants of health.

Details of Appointment

Fixed-term, part-time position until June 30, 2026, working 48 hours fortnight.

Salary

Grade 2 Social Worker - Dependent on experience, as per award.

About CHRH

Central Highlands Rural Health (CHRH) is a rural health organisation that operates five campuses across Hepburn Shire and the Macedon Ranges in the Central Highlands of Victoria in Australia, north and north-west of Melbourne.

It was formed through the voluntary amalgamation of Hepburn Health Service and Kyneton District Health on November 30, 2019. Each of our campuses retains the name of the township in which they are situated.
