Director – CFD/FOREX Brokerage (Start-Up) Our client is an ambitious, high-growth start-up CFD/FOREX brokerage entering the Australian financial landscape with a bold vision: to deliver a smarter, faster, and more client-focused trading experience.
Backed by experienced investors and a strong technology foundation, they plan to build a platform that empowers retail and professional traders through innovative tools, transparent pricing, and world-class support.
This is a rare greenfield opportunity to take the reins as Director, shaping the strategy, building the team, and driving the business through its regulatory, operational, and growth journey.
As Director, you will lead the full lifecycle of launching and scaling a licensed CFD/FOREX brokerage.
This is a hands-on executive role ideal for someone who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and is ready to build from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the company's go-to-market, growth, and revenue strategies in the CFD/FOREX space.
Licensing & Compliance: Oversee the acquisition and maintenance of AFSL or appropriate licensing; ensure ongoing compliance with ASIC and global regulations.
P&L Ownership: Manage financial performance, cost controls, and long-term profitability.
Team Building: Overtime recruit, lead, and inspire a high-performing cross-functional team.
Market Positioning: Champion the brand and product offering; establish strong market presence in Australia and beyond.
Stakeholder Management: Liaise with investors, regulators, technology providers, and key business partners.
About You Proven experience at MD, Country Manager, or Senior Executive level in a CFD, Forex, or multi-asset brokerage.
Strong understanding of ASIC regulation, financial licensing, and compliance frameworks.
Track record of launching or scaling trading or Fin Tech businesses.
Deep industry relationships across liquidity providers, tech vendors, marketing channels, and regulatory consultants.
Commercially savvy, with a strong focus on client acquisition, retention, and revenue growth.
Entrepreneurial mindset – comfortable with ambiguity, driven to build, scale, and innovate.
