Our client, Montessori Works looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.
Purpose of the Role The Childcare Group Leader plays a pivotal role in creating a nurturing, stimulating, and safe environment for children, fostering their holistic development.
This position is responsible for leading a team of educators, designing and implementing engaging curriculum, and building strong partnerships with families to ensure exceptional care and learning experiences for every child.
The Group Leader acts as a mentor to their team, a guide for children, and a key point of contact for families, embodying the centre's commitment to excellence in early childhood education.
Key Duties: -Lead and supervise the daily care and education of children, ensuring all aspects of their daily routine, hygiene, and well-being are managed effectively and in line with all centre policies and regulatory standards.
-Guide and mentor a team of educators to collaboratively plan and deliver a dynamic, child-centred curriculum that meets the developmental and learning needs of all children.
-Design and implement engaging, evidence-based learning experiences that are supported by the preparation of appropriate materials and an organized, safe, and stimulating environment.
-Manage and guide children's social development and behavior through the implementation of positive and respectful strategies that foster empathy and self-regulation.
-Observe, document, and assess children's learning and progress to inform individualised support and continuous program improvement, ensuring a focus on the emotional, social, intellectual, and creative growth of each child.
-Foster open and collaborative communication with families, providing regular updates on their child's progress and actively engaging them in the centre community -Ensure adherence to all operational and regulatory requirements, including the National Quality Framework (NQF), by serving as the go-to resource for your team and providing constructive feedback to promote best practices.
-Cultivate an inclusive and equitable learning environment that celebrates diversity and supports children and families from all backgrounds.
-Collaborate with senior management and external professionals to address complex needs and concerns, ensuring a coordinated approach to supporting children and families.
-Actively participate in ongoing professional development and lead by example in integrating new research and innovative teaching methodologies to continuously enhance the quality of the educational program.
Qualification & Skills: -Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (preferred).
-Montessori training or experience in a Montessori setting is highly desirable.
-Previous experience working with young children in a child care or educational setting.
-Strong understanding of child development and the Montessori philosophy.
-Patience, empathy, and a passion for fostering young children's growth.
-Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
-Ability to observe, assess, and document children's progress.
-CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
-Must pass background checks and meet all state/federal licensing requirements.
