You will support Directors across the superior Courts, as well as running your own matters across the District and Magistrates (when ready).
Indicative matters include: Contractual & Shareholder disputes; E&R, agri- Negligence and liability defences; financial and construction Insolvency matters Land and property disputes The 'no supervising partner' model ensures variation, albeit natural affinities tend to occur down interest, approach and general 'click' lines.
Exposure to their differing practices and methodologies though will allow for your continued development as you carve out your own niche.
While a WA-centric firm, affiliate networks see matters referred in from East Coast and, at times, international firms seeking local representation.
Having largely relied on word-of-mouth marketing for a long time, with good success, the development of strong IT and internal systems means they will imminently launch a targeted marketing campaign.
This in turn will create internal development opportunities as growth accelerates.
Coupling the culture of balance with the free on-site parking (unusual for a firm on the CBD fringe), practitioners are well-positioned to pursue interests outside the office.
The nimble nature of this mid-tier is reflected by their fluid approach to reviews; rather than just the EOFY chat you would expect, they are prone to pulling individuals aside who are outperforming expectations and passing on increases in the moment.
All lawyers have their own office, in a bright, well-fitted building.
Strong IT and file management systems will allow you to spend less time on the admin piece and more on what you should be doing.
A genuinely inclusive, collegiate cohort of lawyers of a similar vintage.
About you You will ideally bring 4–6+ years' PAE with a disputes focus; I would be happy to discuss with those with 3+.
Sound academics on the LLB expected.
