• Professional Development The Royal Hobart Hospital provides a comprehensive tertiary diagnostic and consultative Anatomical Pathology service.
The trainee registrar will have excellent training opportunities and involvement in a wide range of diagnostic services in all aspects of histopathology, autopsy pathology and cytopathology.
Rotations occur to Forensic Pathology and Hobart Pathology.
Registrars are involved in clinical meetings, teaching and research.
The Royal Hobart Hospital is accredited for the Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
Tasmanian | The quiet pursuit of the extraordinary Salary $134,930 – $189,005 per annum Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 Classification Medical Practitioner Level 5-11 (Registrar/Senior Registrar) Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 Award Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award Period of Employment Fixed term, full timeday work,working 76 hours per fortnight plus 10 hours protected training time (pro rata), commencing 2 February 2026 until 1 February 2027 (24 months negotiable).

Essential Requirements General or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
Current Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer.
