Your role As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) Schools provides high-level strategic advice on regulatory matters to the CEO, the VRQA Board, and its committees.
This pivotal leadership role includes: Strategic oversight of registrations Leading complex regulatory reforms, reviews, and investigations Building strong relationships across government, peak bodies, schools, and other sector providers Leading a team of 30 staff with exemplary leadership Fostering a values-based, positive culture of excellence This is a 5-year role with a salary range of $225,000 - $290,600 (TRP), offering hybrid work arrangements and meaningful work in a values-driven environment.

About you Key to your success will be your: Proven achievement at an executive level in regulation or similar government roles, with experience working with Boards or governance structures Extensive experience in developing and managing strategic policy, analysis, and leading sensitive projects Deep understanding of contemporary regulatory and legislative frameworks Strong skills in navigating complex environments and stakeholders Outstanding influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills See the Position Description for more on required capabilities and qualifications.
