About the Office for Clergy
The Office for Clergy is a new office of the Archdiocese of Sydney (Archdiocese) established to strengthen the ongoing formation and support of Priests and Deacons (Clergy) of the Archdiocese.
Its aim is to further strengthen the human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral formation of Clergy and to build an ongoing formation culture in which every Priest and Deacon is engaged and enriched.
To aid in the formation and support of the four formation areas, the Archbishop has established a 10 Point Plan for Clergy that will support, train, encourage and build capacity of Clergy for the development of presbyteral and diaconal life in the Archdiocese.
The Archdiocese of Sydney is seeking a seasoned leader with a commitment to the Church's mission and an ability to bring to life the Archbishop's plan to take up the role of Senior Manager, Office for Clergy (Senior Manager).
About the Opportunity
As Senior Manager, you will work closely with the Vicar for Clergy (Formation) and the Vicar for Clergy (Wellbeing) and other key stakeholders to implement the Archbishop's vision for the formation and support of Clergy.
The Senior Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership to support the personal and ministerial wellbeing of new and existing clergy across the Archdiocese.
This includes developing and implementing a strategic framework that will promote and support a culture of health, ongoing formation, and pastoral effectiveness, with a focus on spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing, as well as ongoing education and skilled ministerial leadership.
Leading and building upon a newly established team, the Senior Manager will ensure the Archbishop's vision is appropriately resourced – people, technology, processes and systems – to support the implementation of the 10 Point Plan.
The Senior Manager will manage the plan and budget, ensuring targets are achieved, financial performance is optimised and within budget, and reporting on performance against plans and targets.
The Senior Manager will work collaboratively with the team, Chancery and other Archdiocesan agencies to respond to clergy enquiries, providing a hub for answering queries and providing a source for support as the Archdiocese implements this new initiative.
This is a full-time role based at the Archdiocese of Sydney's Office at St Martha's, Leichhardt with the opportunity to potentially work from home up to two days per week.
About You
You will bring strong leadership skills, a demonstrated capacity to implement strategic initiatives and an ability to lead and engage with a broad network of stakeholders in a faith-based environment.
The Senior Manager will ideally possess the following Key Requirements:

Demonstrated commitment to the teachings, values and ethos and mission of the Catholic Church.
Proven experience in senior leadership with particular experience developing and implementing strategic initiatives within the for-purpose, faith-based or commercial sector.
Proven ability to manage a broad stakeholder base and to work collaboratively to achieve specific goals and targets.
Proven ability to develop and maintain strong, positive and effective working relationships
Tertiary qualifications in an area that is relevant to the role (e.g.
adult or tertiary education and/or training, theology, health care, social work or a combination of equivalent experience and study).
