**Job Summary**

The role of Educational Counsellor and Student Support Service Provider involves providing educational counselling and student support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students, families and communities within schools.

About the Role

This is a temporary part-time position at Eagleby Learning Centre, requiring travel across three campuses: Eagleby, Helensvale & Varsity with potential access to a school vehicle.

  • Provide educational counselling and support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students across our three campuses.
  • Develop and undertake support service programs designed to meet the needs of the school/s that will encourage the educational participation of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students.
  • Track all Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students' academic progress, attendance data, success goals and cultural knowledge.
Mandatory Requirements

This role requires verification of Aboriginality and/or Torres Strait Island heritage as it is a genuine occupational requirement for Identified roles. An Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person is defined as someone who:

  • is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent;
  • is accepted as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community in which they live.
