Program overview

Duration of 2 years with three 8-month rotations across different areas.
Placements based on skills, qualifications, and department needs.
Opportunity to nominate preferred work areas for subsequent rotations.
Face-to-face development activities throughout the program.
Most placements are in Canberra; Sydney and Melbourne options may be available with occasional travel to Canberra.

Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage
Provide heritage confirmation prior to an offer
Be an Australian citizen or become one by December 2026
Hold an Australian-recognized undergraduate degree completed or to be completed within the last 5 years
Be willing to relocate or travel to Canberra for the program
Obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance
Pass necessary checks

Heritage confirmation
Heritage can be confirmed through organizations such as land councils, corporations, or medical services, with appropriate documentation like signed letters or confirmation forms.
If you lack documentation, you may still apply by outlining steps taken to source it, but must provide evidence before an offer.
