APS6 Data Analyst Location: Canberra Contract Duration: 12 months Clearance: AGSVA NV1 (minimum), NV2 preferred About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Data Analyst (APS6) to join a dynamic team focused on delivering strategic insights.
This role is ideal for a creative problem-solver with a passion for data storytelling and a strong foundation in analytics, visualisation, and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities As a Data Analyst, you will: Design and deliver innovative data solutions to address complex analytical challenges Process, clean, and analyse datasets using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Python/R, and SQLDevelop and maintain interactive dashboards and data products to support decision-making Translate complex data into clear, compelling visual narratives for non-technical audiences Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and provide actionable insights Contribute to policy and strategy development through data-driven advice and reporting What We're Looking For Essential Skills & Experience: Demonstrated experience in Power BI, data analytics and data wrangling, will understand and be proficient at all stages of data analytic process, including data collection, ETL, data wrangling, data cleaning, data mining and data visualisation/data presentation.
Analytical mindset, an eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
You will be great with DFAT standard data tools: Excel and Power BI.
You will have access to Python/R, SQL and other software packages.
Demonstrated expertise in communicating technical concepts and information to non-technical audiences, and engaging with stakeholders.
