About the Role : We seek enthusiastic and talented individuals to join our team.
Our Newcastle office is hiring a Laboratory Geotechnician on a full-time, permanent basis.
You will collaborate with Civil, Geotechnical, Water, and Tailings teams to deliver successful projects across mining, resources, energy, and infrastructure sectors in Australia and globally.
Key responsibilities include : Sample Collection : Collect soil samples from various sites, label, package, and transport them to the lab.
Scheduling : Plan test programs via work orders, ensuring timely completion per project requirements.
Sample Registration : Register received samples, prepare test specimens, and conduct tests as instructed.
Sample Preparation : Dry, sieve, and store samples following lab protocols.
General Testing : Perform soil tests such as grain size analysis, Atterberg limits, compaction, permeability, and shear strength.
Data Recording : Record test results accurately.
Report Preparation : Assist in drafting laboratory reports and provide data for engineering assessments.
Equipment Calibration : Calibrate and maintain lab equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning.
Training : Supervise trainee technicians and students, review test worksheets, and input data into reports.
Equipment Maintenance : Maintain lab equipment in good condition and perform routine maintenance.
