To be successful for the role, candidates should possess the following skills or experience: Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and experienced AVP to join the Leveraged Finance team at Barclays in Sydney.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, high deal volume environment on a broad range of financing transactions (leveraged finance, private credit) for a diverse set of clients (financial sponsors, corporates).
As an AVP, you will play a critical role in securing and executing financings.
Your responsibilities include leading financial modelling and due diligence work streams, and preparing marketing and internal approval materials.
The ideal candidate will have experience in leveraged finance and/or private credit, be highly motivated, eager to learn, and capable of working effectively under pressure.

Purpose of the Role Build and maintain client relationships, understand their needs and financial goals to develop suitable investment banking solutions.
Accountabilities Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.
Generate ideas and identify opportunities to expand the bank's client base and generate new business.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis and due diligence to assess financial health and valuation of client companies.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation for transactions.
Work with teams such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management to deliver comprehensive solutions.
Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability initiatives by engaging with clients on climate, transition strategies, and sustainable finance opportunities.
Assistant Vice President Expectations Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and collaborate with other functions.
Lead a team on complex tasks, set objectives, coach employees, and evaluate performance.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors to foster an environment of excellence, including listening, inspiring, aligning, and developing others.
Guide team members through assignments, identify new directions, and include other expertise as needed.
Consult on complex issues and support risk mitigation and control development.
Manage risks and strengthen controls related to your work.
Collaborate across areas to support business strategies and activities.
Engage in complex data analysis to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly to diverse audiences.
Influence stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
