The Opportunity: We are seeking an exceptionally talented, results-driven, and hands-on General Manager to lead our core business functions within the dynamic Australian Solar and BESS EPC sector.
This is a pivotal leadership role with comprehensive end-to-end responsibility, encompassing full P&L ownership, driving strategic sales growth, overseeing our cutting-edge engineering capabilities, and ensuring the flawless execution and delivery of our projects.
We are happy to consider candidates to work in our Melbourne CBD office (Hybrid) or in Sydney (fully remote).
You'll be tasked with Overall P&L Management and strategic leadership Sales Leadership and business development with an EPC focus – driving new project acquisition, addressing tender responses, leading and mentoring the Sales team Engineering & Design Oversight (Solar & BESS Specific) – providing strategic leadership and resource management to the local and offshore Engineering team.
Project Delivery and Construction Management (EPC Core) – overseeing the EPC lifecycle and project management delivery Leadership and hands on engagement – directly growing and supporting our Engineering, Sales and Project Managers and jumping in to assist when necessary to engage in critical sales pitches and negotiations, review complex engineering designs and personally intervene in project challenges.
Your background If you possess a proven track record of operational excellence in the renewable energy EPC space, a deep understanding of the Australian energy market, and are passionate about direct involvement in project success, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact.
Ideally, your background will look a little like this: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related technical field.
A master's degree or MBA is highly regarded.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the renewable energy sector, with a significant portion in an EPC environment focused on Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
Proven experience in a senior leadership role with demonstrated P&L responsibility.
Strong track record of successful sales and business development in the Australian energy market, securing multi-million-dollar EPC contracts.
Deep technical understanding of solar PV systems, battery energy storage technologies, grid connection requirements, and relevant Australian standards.
Extensive experience in managing complex EPC project lifecycles, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of large-scale renewable energy assets.
Exceptional financial acumen, commercial negotiation skills, and contract management expertise.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse technical and commercial teams.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to travel frequently to project sites across Australia, often in regional areas.
Highly organised, strategic thinker, proactive, and results oriented.
