From routine servicing to complex mechanical work, South Brisbane Mechanical Pty Ltd is your dependable partner for professional automotive care.Position Overview:A Motor Mechanic at South Brisbane Mechanical Pty Ltd will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles to ensure their optimal performance and safety.
The Motor Mechanic role involves diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and safety checks, ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
It also requires clear communication with customers to explain issues and recommend solutions.
Tasks & responsibilities:Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle components.Inspect vehicles to determine issues, which may involve using computerised diagnostic tools.Follow workshop safety procedures, like using PPE, safe jacking, and tool handling.Keep the work area clean and tools organised.Inspecting the compliance and safety of all lifting equipment prior to undertaking the task.Detecting and diagnosing faults in engines and parts.Fix or replace defective vehicle parts such as brakes, engines, and transmission systems.Conduct oil changes, re rotations, and other regular vehicle upkeep to prevent future problems.Ensure that repairs are effective by road-testing vehicles or running diagnostic test.Explain issues, repairs needed, and the work done to customers, on providing cost and time estimates and educating customers on car care and preventive maintenance to help avoid recurring problems.Help with suspension check, like looking for worn brushing and leaking shocks.Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed.Learn latest automotive technologies and repair methods to maintain service quality.Follow safety protocols during repairs and handling hazardous materials correctly.Conduct comprehensive checks on systems such as basic electrical, fuel, cooling, and exhaust to ensure proper function.Ensure that tools and diagnostic equipment are in good working order to prevent delays.Follow local and national automotive regulations, including emission standards and safety guidelines.Work in teams to resolve complex issues that require specialised input.Verify vehicle serviceability through test drives and necessary system adjustments.Adhere to state regulations by testing engines, safety features, and combustion control standards.Always have weekly meetings to provide the best result.Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance and repairs.Qualifications and Experience:Certificate IV in the relevant fieldOne (1) year of relevant experienceSkills:Commitment to delivering high-quality service and ensuring customer satisfaction.Efficiently manage tasks to complete repairs and servicing within designated timeframes.Stay current with the latest automotive technologies and adapt to new vehicle models and diagnostic tools.Benefits & Remuneration:Salary commensurate with experience.
