The Organisation
Our client is a well-known Insurance underwriter offering a wide range of products to their consumer and wholesale customers.
They are an established brand with decades of presence in the Australian market and aim to continue through responsible and strategic financial leadership.
The Role
Responsibilities

Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing forward-looking financial insights.
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis processes.
Translate complex financial data into clear commercial narratives.
Partner on pricing, product development, and operational initiatives.
Manage and develop two high-performing direct reports.
Support strategic planning and board-level reporting.
Drive underwriting profitability analysis by product line, segment, and channel.
Lead monthly loss ratio and claims trend reviews, working closely with actuarial and pricing teams.
Support reinsurance and capital planning initiatives through robust financial modelling.

The Ideal Candidate

5+ years of commercial experience, ideally within the insurance industry.
Prior experience in an FP&A, business partner, or commercial finance role.
CA/CPA qualification is preferred.
Previous mentorship/leadership exposure is desirable.
Excellent communication skills to effectively partner with diverse stakeholders.
Comfortable with ambiguity and able to determine priorities.
Insurance or financial services experience highly regarded.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
