With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hour's drive from the CBD, Melbourne's North is fast becoming the place to be The Role: Northern Health is excited to announce the launch of our new Sleep Medicine Service We are seeking an experienced and motivated Scientific Director (Respiratory and Sleep) to play a pivotal role in establishing and leading this innovative, digitally enabled service.

Key Responsibilities Provide leadership and support to the Director of Respiratory and Sleep Medicine and laboratory Medical Directors Oversee senior scientific staff across both disciplines Ensure the delivery of high quality, innovative physiological testing Lead the development of policies, procedures, training and education, ensuring accreditation standards are met and maintained Oversee the ongoing development and conduct of an effective quality assurance program, including achieving and maintaining the ASA/NATA and TSANZ/NATA accreditation Supervise and mentor junior scientific staff Oversee budget planning and financial accountability within the laboratories Promote a safe and supportive working environment for all laboratory staff Lead the Respiratory and Sleep administration team, ensuring efficient administrative processes.
To be successful in the role you will have: Relevant tertiary qualification(s) (e.g.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Applied Science) Substantial experience in clinical sleep laboratory measurement, respiratory laboratory measurement and sleep and respiratory physiology Experience in service development within Respiratory and Sleep Medicine laboratories and departments Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a focus on operational excellence and team collaboration Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Next Steps: If you're ready to take the next step in your career and be a part of this transformative initiative in sleep medicine, we want to hear from you Please click on the 'Apply' button and follow the prompts.
