This person will take on a crucial role: leading and managing a small team of talented designers, while also acting as a hands-on design lead for major projects, with an emphasis on building AI products.

You'll work closely with product, engineering, and data teams to bridge the gap between human creativity and AI driven technology, ensuring our designs are intuitive, innovative, and impactful.This is a unique opportunity to directly influence the product roadmap as we transform our ways of working and feature set to embrace AI.
We're looking for a design lead who can not only manage and mentor a team but also help define and execute a design strategy for our next generation of experiences.This role is available in Sydney, Melbourne and BrisbaneKey Responsibilities -Lead Design Strategy: Define and drive the design strategy for our core products, ensuring a cohesive and user centric approach that aligns with business and product goals.
You will help set the standard for how we incorporate AI into our design process and how it can improve the workflows and experiences for our users.
People Management & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, helping them grow their skills and navigate complex projects.
Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and opportunities for development, especially in the context of designing with new technologies.
Hands on Design Leadership: Act as a lead designer on high priority projects, from concept to launch.
You'll be responsible for creating designs and prototypes (whether that's in Figma or using your choice of AI tool) ensuring high quality execution while ensuring the considerations of DVF.
Cross functional Collaboration: Act as a key partner to product managers, engineers, and data scientists, translating complex technical capabilities into intuitive user experiences.
Advocate for the User: Champion a user centered design approach, ensuring that user insights, research, and data are at the core of all design decisions.
Establish Design Excellence: Leveraging AI to define and implement best practices, design systems, and frameworks, promoting consistency and scalability across the platform.
Advocate for design value and purpose across the company and externally to elevate the team and our function.Requirements -Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in product design, with a significant focus on or demonstrated interest in AI, machine learning, or similar emerging technologies.
Leadership: Proven experience in a management role, with a strong ability to mentor and grow a design team.
Hands on Design: A track record of actively contributing to design and leading impactful design initiatives that drove product strategy and business outcomes.
Technical Acumen: Familiarity with the technical considerations of designing for AI, including understanding the opportunities and limitations of large language models and other machine learning technologies.
Communication: Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate complex design concepts and influence decisions with stakeholders and leadership.
Collaboration: Strong ability to collaborate with cross functional teams, fostering a positive and productive environment.Nice to haves -Demonstrated passion for the AI space, with evidence of experimentation, personal projects, or contributions within generative AI or vibe coding yourself.
Experience designing for a Saa S, CRM, or finance product.
