Our client is a prominent Power Engineering company that aims to expand its construction team due to a robust project pipeline. Committed to shaping the future of energy with cutting-edge power generation solutions. They boast an experienced team of experts who are passionate about engineering excellence, sustainability, and delivering impactful projects.

Seeking Site Managers to join their dynamic construction team. Reporting to the Site Construction Superintendent, the role involves Site Management, overseeing Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality aspects, managing work schedules, and local resource engagement on the construction site.

The position is full-time and permanent, based in Adelaide or QLD. FIFO travel is required, working on a rotating site roster. You will be temporarily assigned to a Major Project, collaborating closely with a Project Manager to provide Site Management. Typical construction tasks include earthworks, concrete work, stormwater management, earthing, underground conduits, structural steel installation, and erecting transportable buildings. You will also oversee the installation of mechanical, piping, electrical, and control equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with client representatives onsite to ensure smooth operations
  • Engage suppliers and subcontractors
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing safe work method statements and JSEA's
  • Conduct incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Plan and organize various activities on site
  • Supervise all work on site, direct employees and contractors
  • Oversee issuance and monitoring of work permits
  • Ensure safety of visitors, contractors, and employees on site
  • Carry out site audits and monitor conditions
  • Ensure compliance with drawings and specifications
  • Complete daily reports and safety statistics
  • Manage site expenditures
  • Verify personnel are appropriately trained
  • Fulfill role of Operator and Site Safety Manager

About you:

  • Prior experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Trade background in civil or mechanical (gas, coal, or energy sectors)
  • Construction white card
  • Working at heights certification
  • Telehandler/forklift license
  • Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality practices
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks calmly under pressure
  • Supervisor's license in Victoria (S123)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Current Driver's License (International applicants must have working rights for Australia)
