As a Senior Technical Officer, you will:

  • Provide staff, students, and other relevant stakeholders with highly specialised technical services, expert advice, training, and practical demonstrations that ensure safe and technical proficient use of specialised learning equipment
  • Ensure learning equipment is maintained and operated to a safe and high standard, exercising advanced diagnostic skills on sophisticated equipment or systems and ensure the implementation and compliance of all University policies that relate to occupational health and safety and risk management
  • Research, propose, coordinate, and implement technical solutions to support the strategic initiatives and operations of the school and striving for excellence, ensuring skills and expertise are relevant to provide high-level support in a constantly evolving and changing technology industry
  • Support various projects for teaching and research as required, including outreach, industry engagement and inter-school activities and work collaboratively with members of the university's ICT community to provide high-quality service and support whilst advocating for the School's ICT systems, platforms, and computation and data needs
  • Build new and productive relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders relevant to maintaining and enhancing the teaching and learning facilities of the emerging technology specialisations and seek feedback from clients regarding their satisfaction and perspective with products or services received

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and subsequent relevant experience; or
  • An equivalent combination if relevant experience and education/training
