We are currently seeking a degree qualified engineer interested in developing a career in loss prevention engineering, with 3+ years industrial experience in the mining or power generation sector. This is a permanent full-time position, based in our Perth CBD Office, reporting to Andreas Freytag, Group Manager Field Engineering.

Candidates must have full, unrestricted working rights for Australia & ability for unrestricted travel globally within 3-6 months of hire to be considered for this role.

You will be provided with extensive training to understand our business, establish relationships with mentors, and learn FM Global's best-in-class industry standards and approach to property loss prevention. In this role, you will work independently with a lifeline of 200 years of support and experience.

As an FM Global Consultant Engineer, you will develop strong working relationships with our clients and help them identify, quantify and reduce risks to their business. You will advise on property protection and develop solutions supported by our extensive research base and unique scientific expertise. In addition, you will act to support project activity for our client base as they develop their business opportunities and facilities in Western Australia.

You will handle field, office and project work for clients within a wide range of industries (including manufacturing, warehousing and retailing) with minimal guidance and supervision. The role involves frequent domestic and some international travel (approx nights away each year).

The role requires individuals with excellent communication & interpersonal skills to liaise with a wide range of people, from operations through to senior management.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate effective project management skills, a high degree of autonomy and self-motivation.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering3+ years industrial engineering experience in power generation or mining sectorStrong verbal and written communications skills, including fluency in English language.Good analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving skillsEfficient time management ability with work independently with minimal supervisionEffective consulting/sales and negotiation skillsProven technical capability including diverse knowledge of engineering principlesValid driver's license + PassportPhysical ability to walk up and down the stairs, lift >12 kilos, balance, and safely working at heightsProficient in MS Office products & comfortable with learning new technologies
