South Fremantle Football Club is seeking a Strength and Conditioning Coach to join the High-Performance
Team, responsible for our Rogers Cup program.
The Rogers Cup is for players aged under 19 and serves as a crucial pathway for developing talent in Australian
rules football. It provides young players with the opportunity to showcase their skills and potentially progress
to senior levels of the sport. The Rogers Cup competition is an important step for those aiming to play at the
highest level (WAFLW/AFLW).
The Rogers Cup competition is instrumental in identifying and nurturing the best young talent in Western
Australian football. Clubs, coaches, and talent scouts often closely monitor these competitions to identify and
recruit promising players.
The Position:
The role will report directly to the Head S&C Coach - WAFLW at South Fremantle Football Club and is
responsible for planning, developing and the implementation of the Rogers Cup Women's program and works
with other football department staff to develop athletes in a holistic manner.
Responsibilities Include:
- Build the high-performance program by planning and managing training loads whilst working with the coaching staff on balancing skills and conditioning sessions.
- Design and implement total conditioning and preparation program for the Rogers Cup program (preseason, off-season and in-season) across strength, rehab and running.
- Conduct fitness testing and load management of athletes including the monitoring of training loads.
- Present player status/availability report to Match Committee each week
- Work with the Doctor, Physio, Assistant Physio, Players and Head Coach on game availability, including the objective use of data to support decision making.
- Work with players who are in rehab or require tailored individual programs to develop athlete specific rehabilitation programs.
- Drive the recovery process and standards to a state league level
Minimum service requirements
- Attend every training session where required (up to a maximum of 2 sessions p/week)
- Attend game day
