About Us...

Central Coast Basketball operates out of Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium in Terrigal on the Central Coast of NSW and overlooks our Crusaders and Rebels representative basketball programs as well as our senior and junior basketball leagues.

Basketball is our core and referee development is critical part of our strategy.

We are looking for the right RDO to lead the development, implementation and execution of a basketball referee development program.

About the Role...

The Referee Development Officer, who reports to the competitions manager, will have overall responsibility for our referee programs and talent pipeline.

Accountabilities will include:

  • Managing the standard of refereeing across our domestic and representative areas
  • Managing the referee development curriculum and pathways
  • Ensuring referees have access to the right feedback, recognition and development opportunities
  • Co-ordinating regular referee development courses
  • Preparing and managing referee rosters and logistics for domestic and representative programs, annual tournaments and schools events
  • Liaising with BNSW referee's manager to ensure consistency with BNSW curriculum and expectations
  • Handling disputes and complaints
  • Managing costs associated with referee's in accordance with an agreed budget
  • Some weekend hours will be required

About You and How You Will Succeed:

  • You will have experience, or a working knowledge of referee's and official's operational functions in basketball, or similar in other sports
  • You will be adept at managing teenagers and young adults
  • You will have a passion for developing others
  • You will be self-motivated and have excellent time management and organisational skills
  • You will be clam under pressure and this will be evident when handling and de-escalating conflict
