Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Apply your expertise in software development, systems engineering, and networking to proactively address recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with partner teams to enhance the reliability and performance of the infrastructure through improved system design.
  • Promote a culture that discourages manual tasks, leading to a highly automated environment that offers scalable solutions.
  • Provide timely and sustainable resolutions to issues within our infrastructure and application stack.
  • Champion monitoring and automation initiatives.
Qualifications

Note: This role mandates Australian citizenship as successful candidates will be required to obtain security clearance.

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • In-depth knowledge of Linux systems, including troubleshooting and monitoring.
  • Over 6 years of experience with DevOps automation and agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins, and Spinnaker.
  • Proficiency in coding with languages such as JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, and Bash.
  • Experience in database administration, preferably with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Maria DB, or Oracle DB.
  • Background in web application development and operations, especially with Java EE or Python stack, and familiarity with various technologies like Apache Tomcat, JBoss, Kafka, RMQ, ELK, Nginx, F5, Splunk, Grafana, and Prometheus.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of networking services and protocols, including DNS, SNMP, HTTPS, TCP/IP, and BGP.
  • Experience with events management tools/platforms like Netcool/OMNIbus, IBM/Tivoli, HP OVO, BMC BEM/TruSight, Moogsoft, Instana, ServiceNow ITOM.
  • Hands-on experience in developing enterprise-scale automation solutions.
  • Proficiency in working with Container and Container Orchestration Platforms such as Docker Swarm, Apache Mesos, Kubernetes.
  • Strong grasp of workflow orchestration tools like ServiceNow Workflow, HP OO, Rundeck, Apache Airflow, Tidal, and BMC Atrium Orchestrator.
  • Exposure to AI/ML technologies.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with developing on the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Industry certifications like ITIL, CCSP, COBIT, Linux/Unix certification, Certified PostgreSQL DBA(CPSDBA), or ServiceNow certification.
