The Opportunity

The College of Health and Medicine brings together the School of Health Sciences , School of Medicine, School of Nursing, School of Pharmacy and Pharmacology, School of Paramedicine, School of Psychological Sciences, Menzies Institute for Medical Research, and the Wicking Dementia Research and Education Centre.

As part of the Exercise and Sports Science academic team, you will undertake teaching, research, and service activities with a range of disciplines and units. The teaching will focus particularly on the exercise science and exercise physiology courses with the potential to be involved in teaching of other allied health courses, nutrition science and/or bioscience.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
  • Undertake scholarly undergraduate (and if relevant postgraduate) coursework teaching of a high quality.
  • Provide quality work-integrated learning (WIL) experience for students.
  • Be involved in high-quality research aligned with the School and College strategic plans.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links.

What we're looking for:

  • Current registration as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA), with evidence of staying up to date with discipline knowledge and development.
  • Completion of a PhD qualification in a health-related field (A minimum Master's level qualification may be sufficient for individuals with extraordinary professional competence and industry of clinical skills and experience).
  • Experience in University-level teaching and learning, and a demonstrated ability to deliver dynamic and relevant learning experiences for students across all delivery modes using contemporary teaching practices.
  • A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry and wider community.
  • Evidence of highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills with demonstrated ability to interact with the profession and industry

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Academic Level B and will have a total remuneration package of up to $147,083 comprising base salary within the range of $108,285 to $125,712 plus 17% superannuation.
