Our valued client, a Global Oil & Gas Operator, are looking for a Senior Completions Engineer to join their Perth Office on a 12-month contract.

Primary Objective: Provide completion engineering expertise to New Field & CCS projects.

Primary Responsibilities

OH&SConduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. At all times, ensure the welfare of personnel and the protection of our assets and the environment.Technical ExpertiseCandidates should have extensive completion engineering experience within a project development framework, along with a comprehensive understanding of the frontend engineering design (FEED) process. This includes the development of engineering strategies that enhance design refinement from initial concept to detailed design, ensuring they are fully developed and ready for execution.Experience and demonstratable track record in subsea completion engineering for both oil and high rate gas developments, including; sandface completion design, perforating technology and strategies, Inflow and outflow analysis, flow assurance risk and mitigation strategies, formation damage mitigation and remedial strategies, completion and reservoir fluid system design, completion tubing design and stress analysis, evaluation corrosion and erosion mechanisms, including appropriate material selection. Experience and demonstratable track record in the selection process and application of completion equipment technology, including reliability analysis, well barrier analysis, failure mode analysis, hydraulic analysis, formation isolation and fluid loss control strategies, sand screen sizing and selection, tubing and premium connection design, packer design, TRSSV operation and design, chemical injection valves, down hole gauge systems , flow control equipment design strategies and the appropriate equipment qualification and industry codes and standards.Experience and proven track record in CCS completion engineering and its related technologies, with previous involvement in actual CCS projects. Applicants should possess an indepth knowledge of the core challenges in completion engineering for CO2 injection wells. This includes proficiency in designing safety valve systems, addressing well integrity issues, managing corrosion challenges, and selecting suitable corrosion-resistant materials. Additionally, expertise in both dry and wet injection Christmas tree design considerations, along with familiarity with the associated monitoring and verification techniques and technologies is a must.Good understanding of Subsea engineering and subsea production systems, including horizontal, vertical and vertical monobore tree designs, IWOCS systems, SSLS, open water CWOR systems and ROV systems and technology. Good understanding of subsea facility and production systems and key well interface management with project teams.Conversant in key aspects of Well Integrity, including experience in the development of annulus management and monitoring strategy's, development of well Integrity test procedures and technical support for well Integrity testing operations.Conversant and capable user of completion related software packages including Landmarks Wellcat and Wellplan. A good understanding of the application of inflow out flow software packages, including PROSPER, pipeSIM and OLGA.Drilling EngineeringBasic understanding of the basic drilling principles and key completion interfaces and considerations.ComplianceBasic understanding of NOPSEMA regulatory frame work and purpose of facility safety case and the well operations management plan.Risk ManagementExperience and demonstratable track record with participation in formal safety assessments (HAZID), HAZOPS and operational risk assessments.Financial ManagementExperience and demonstratable track record in contract management, including the development of contract values and successful management of associated contract budgets.Geology and GeophysicsBasic understanding of the basic geological and geophysics that influence completion design, including, typical reservoir properties petrophysical logs and core analysisQualificationsAppropriate engineering or science degree, or a demonstratable level of experiencebased competence and industry training. Skills and ExperienceMinimum 15 years' experience in Oil and Gas Drilling Industry and 10 years' completion engineering experience with an operator and with experience working on a CCS project.Extensive technical understanding of completion design.Safety management skills.Working knowledge of Industry Standards such as API, ISO, etc.Personal QualitiesGood interpersonal and communication skillslogical mind with a practical approach to problemsolving and a drive to see things through to completion.Ability to interact with operations teams and management at all levels.Willingness to mentor and share knowledge.Key Stakeholder RelationshipsDrilling Team and Project Teams
