What you'll do

As the Associate Director, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for the ongoing planning and maintenance of the universitys extensive facilities, infrastructure, buildings, grounds, and property portfolio. This critical leadership position demands a detailed understanding of maintenance and infrastructure in a complex commercial environment. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that assets are managed in accordance with industry standards, legislation, and the University Strategic Asset Management Plan. Leading a team responsible for the extensive asset portfolio aligned with strategic objectives and priorities, this role is integral to the universitys success. In doing so, your key responsibilities will be:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor cutting-edge infrastructure and maintenance policies, ensuring facilities are fit for purpose, safe, and compliant.
  • Manage maintenance contracts for optimal efficiency and effectiveness, adhering to best practice contractor management.
  • Exercise strong financial management, ensuring delivery within time, budget, and policy parameters to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Utilise Asset Management systems to develop effective measurement tools, driving data-informed decision-making.

What will help you succeed

Together with your relevant qualifications and experience, you will also possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in navigating complex multi-disciplinary environments, showcasing leadership and strategic management skills in handling large-scale institutional assets, services, and infrastructure.
  • Proven expertise in developing and managing substantial capital and operating programs, with a keen ability to prioritize activities based on risk, will ensure effective decision-making.
  • Familiarity with specialist Facilities Management Information Systems, including Computerised Maintenance Management Systems, Building Management Systems, and Strategic Asset Management Systems, and the ability to leverage data for informed planning activities are key attributes.
  • The capacity to independently organize and manage diverse tasks and projects, coupled with strategic and innovative thinking to navigate conflicting priorities and deadlines, will be vital.
  • Additionally, the ability to provide leadership and supervision to a diverse staff, motivating them to achieve excellence in work performance, client service, and University outcomes.

Salary: Total remuneration range $156,435 to $173,403 pa (includes salary range of $132,180 to $146,517 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading)
