Your New Role
As the Senior Fund Accountant, you will be crucial in supporting the Fund Accounting team with essential tasks, strategic projects, and change management. You will have a comprehensive view of fund administration and management operations, analyzing processes to suggest improvements. Building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders will be key as you support the team in managing superannuation accounting, regulatory compliance, and tax functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee reconciliation of third-party data and ensure reporting accuracy.
- Prepare management accounts, tax calculations, and reconciliations.
- Handle income and business activity statement lodgements.
- Manage APRA reporting and respond to queries.
- Coordinate audit and reporting processes with administrators, custodians, and auditors.
- Prepare year-end financial reports and assist with board papers.
- Monitor daily superannuation unit prices and cashflow transactions.
- Calculate and coordinate payment of management and administration fees.
- Ensure accurate tax rates in unit pricing and reconcile discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain a risk and control framework.
We are seeking an individual with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, who can thrive in a small team setting. A deep commitment to ethical and environmental issues is essential, along with a degree in Business or Accounting, CPA/CA qualifications, and at least a decade of experience in superannuation fund accounting and unit pricing.
