Graduate Consultant (Environment)
SRK Consulting is an international independent employee-owned consulting practice, providing integrated consulting services to the resource sector.

The Role

This exciting learning opportunity may see you undertaking the following duties:

  • Contributing to geochemical characterisation studies (soil, mine wastes, and ore) which may involve site-based field work
  • Groundwater and surface water sampling
  • Using GIS to produce maps and report figures
  • Introduction to geochemical modelling to support data interpretation and predict geochemical outcomes
  • Condensing technical data into fit for purpose reports and presentations.
  • Closure cost estimation modelling and reporting
  • Supporting the preparation of proposals in response to client needs and other business development activities
  • Interacting with SRK clients.
  • Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geochemistry, Environmental Science or related discipline with relevant experience (such as Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering)
  • Fieldwork and sample collection experience
  • Experience with laboratory procedures, and processing and interpreting laboratory data
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Language fluency in English including the ability to contribute to high quality technical reports.
  • Australian Resident or person with existing Working Visa
  • Willingness to travel (including remote locations)

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Field work / mine site experience (e.g. geological logging, sampling of soils, water, rock)
  • Design, implementation or participation in site investigations / sampling programs
  • Assessment and reporting of geochemical and other data
  • Use of ArcGIS and/or geological modelling software (e.g. Leapfrog)
  • Some exposure to mine closure cost modelling and planning
