Position Overview


To provide first and second level support and service desk provision and responsible for the effective day to day operation of the IT service desk and proactive services and initiatives within the group.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • 1st to 2nd level support on supported systems and after hours support where required.
  • Ensure a timely response for all tickets.
  • Managing escalations and ensuring any issues are resolved in a timely manner and within SLAs.
  • Provide weekend and holiday support coverage as required.
  • Making recommendations and implement to improve operational efficiency.
  • Proactively create, maintain, and distribute "How to." documentation to Civeo.
  • Responsible for inventory and timely deployment of equipment to employees.
  • Responsible for Customer service initiatives as agreed with the IT manager or Civeo IT management.
  • Reviewing Service Desk activities and implementing continuous improvements to people, process and/or technology
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain PCs, laptops, printers and photocopiers.
  • Install and troubleshoot approved hardware and software.
  • To ensure all health, safety, quality and environmental standards and legislation are strictly implemented, ensuring a safe environment for employees, customers, contractors, and visitors.
  • Adhere to IT policies and procedures
  • Regular travel to remote sites
  • Other projects arising as assigned by the Service Desk Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Professional Qualifications

  • Preferred Higher School Certificate and/or technical qualifications.
  • Two years or more on the relevant equipment.
Experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting objectives, whilst considering short and longterm priorities.
  • Able to effectively communicate with management and staff both written and verbally, whilst maintaining a professional approach to customer service.
  • The ability to be aware of change in business priorities and respond positively to modified priorities to achieve effective outcomes.
  • Proven ability to install and maintain IT hardware and software.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems and follow through to resolution.

Skills:

  • Strong technical background.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
